CHILDREN'S HORSEBACK RIDING LESSONS
AT CALIFORNIA RIDING ACADEMY

At California Riding Academy fifty percent of our clients are children, so your child can get to know other horse-crazy kids. With multiple avenues to participate including USPC, Camps and Events, your child will not be alone in their desire to become a horseman (or horsewoman!). Our Academy Riding Program is geared towards your child’s personal growth at a rate comfortable for them, and you! With our convenient upper-peninsula location, we are close to San Francisco and many bay and coastal cities.

Maybe you rode as a child and want yours to experience horses? Or perhaps, they are driving you crazy with their horse obsession? Or they already ride and want to take their riding to the next level? Whatever your circumstances, we are here to guide your child in the right direction in a safe and professional environment. Our extensive competitive background will assure proper advancement whatever their current riding level may be. We offer both basic English or Western lessons with specialty of Dressage and Hunter/Jumpers for more advanced riders. Your child will receive positive, professional and safe instruction in accordance with their personal goals. Our personable staff and team of high quality school horses and ponies complete our team. The Academy values horsemanship and your child will learn to groom and tack-up their own horses.

We offer one-hour Private and small Group lessons, with discounts for obsessed horse lovers. For ambitious kids, we host in-house schooling shows to introduce students to the exciting world of horse competition. Many of our kids graduate from the Academy and progress to be successful competitors and horse owners. Lease and purchase options available. Ask about our Exclusive Use Program!

If your child is lucky enough to own a horse, inquire about our boarding and training options.

ASSESSMENT LESSON

Regardless of previous experience, all new riders must start with a Private one-hour Assessment Lesson (PAL). This gives us a chance to evaluate your child’s current skill level and get to know your child, and visa versa! This is a great time to discuss your child’s goals so we can come up with a program that suits his or her needs.

After your assessment lesson and learning about your child’s goals, we will provide a training plan. Guaranteed lessons must be taken a minimum of once per week, however, more frequent riding will ensure more rapid progress.
